Hydrocarbon Feedstock
One of the key factors of the Company's steady development is availability of its own raw-material base. SIBUR's enterprises process over 50% of the country's associated petroleum gas (16.8 bln m3 in 2009) received from the largest Russian oil-and-gas companies. A joint venture for APG processing, Yugragazpererabotka LLC, was established with TNK-BP. The main products of gas processing enterprises are dry lean gas (DLG), broad fraction of light hydrocarbons (BFLH), stable natural gasoline (SNG), and liquefied petroleum gases (LPG).
An increase in reception and processing volumes of LPG is a long-term strategic priority of the Company which is setting tasks of searching for new feedstock sources and expansion of its processing geography, as well as establishment of joint ventures with oil companies. SIBUR is implementing a complex program for modernization and construction of new gas processing operations with increase in LPG reception volume to 20-21 bln cu m by 2012.
Gas processing activities at the corporate centre are supervised by the Hydrocarbon Feedstock Business Unit headed by Vice President Mikhail Karisalov. Enterprises of the Business Unit include:
* Tobolsk-Polimer is one of the largest polypropylene manufacturing complexes in the world with capacity of 500 thou tpy, construction of which is scheduled for completion in the 4th Qtr of 2012. In view of the project location on the site that includes Tobolsk-Neftekhim, the enterprise has been included in HFBU at the construction work stage for the purpose of optimization of management and engineering processes. After the construction is completed, Tobolsk-Polimer will be included in the Plastics and Organic Synthesis Business Unit.
