Research and Innovation

SIBUR's program for research and development activities (R&D) is being realized on the basis of two corporate R&D centers in Tomsk and Krasnodar, and research divisions of enterprises. It includes the following basic directions:

• information and analytic research in global achievements in petroleum chemistry, an estimation of performance indicators of the Company's operations as compared to the best global counterparts (benchmarking), and preparation of patent reviews;
• research in improvement of the existing processes and yielded products for the purpose of operational costs reduction and increase in profits;
• theoretical research in development of crucially new processes and products which can improve the Company's competitiveness in the world market in the long term.
