SIBUR and TNK-BP to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation in Irkutsk Region

LLC SIBUR Vostok and JSC TNK-BP Management have signed a memorandum of intentions for APG processing in Irkutsk region. The document provides the possibility to consolidate efforts of both companies for the launch of gas processing site in the region on base of the fields developed by the oil company.

SIBUR has already started to carry out a pre-feasibility study for the construction of gas processing and gas chemical productions in East Siberia and Far East. After completion of the pre-feasibility study the parties will take a decision on expediency of joint participation in the construction of new capacities in Irkutsk region.

The development of gas processing in eastern part of the country mostly depends on the state participation in creation of required infrastructure and availability of long-term  APG supply contracts between the project operator and subsurface users before the construction starts.

«Implementation of this project is a part of the SIBUR long-term programme for gas processing in East Siberia», SIBUR President Dmitry Konov said. «At this time we see the way to start pre-project which allows to define possible configuration of the future processing site and required infrastructure».

SIBUR and TNK-BP have successful experience of cooperation for APG processing in West Siberia. Their JV Yugragazpererabotka consolidates processing of Nizhnevartovsky GPP and Belozerny GPP with 8 bcm capacity of APG per annum.
