New polymer grades for water supply facilities

SIBUR to launch production of RC polyethylene grades for multilayer pipes.

The company has announced the launch of a pilot batch of special PE100 RС grades for blue and orange multilayer pipes. Previously, the grades have not been made in Russia. The launch is scheduled for Q2 2023.

This year, we are diversifying our range of brands. Back in 2022, SIBUR obtained a grade of a polypropylene block copolymer that can be used in special pipes for water disposal systems. Our goal in 2023 is to expand the grade’s capabilities to make sure pipes can be applied in various segments. In 2023, SIBUR will also continue ramping up production of its basic grade, PE100, at ZapSibNeftekhim.

The polymer pipe segment is among the most rapidly growing ones in the polymer processing industry. Having started out as solutions for water supply and water disposal systems, polymer pipes are now extensively used in the manufacturing industry and also in agriculture.
