SIBUR develops new polyethylene grade for heat-resistant pipe solutions

May 26, 2026. SIBUR has expanded its range of solutions for the pipe industry by launching a new grade, HD 03380 RT, a high-density PE-RT polyethylene for pipe extrusion. The new grade is intended for the production of modern piping systems where heat resistance, long-term service reliability and processing stability are critical. Production of the new grade has been set up at the Kazanorgsintez site.

The new grade has been developed with regard to current market needs in engineering systems and infrastructure construction, where there is strong demand for materials capable of withstanding prolonged temperature loads and ensuring stable operation of piping systems. Particularly high requirements are applied to solutions for underfloor heating and hot water supply, as well as other engineering applications where durability, safety and material quality are key factors.

For manufacturers, the development of the new grade also means the opportunity to use a domestically produced material, which simplifies raw material selection and reduces dependence on imported analogues.

The new grade was developed with the participation of researchers from the SIBUR PolyLab Moscow applied research centre and experts from Kazanorgsintez. It has successfully passed long-term hydrostatic strength tests and homologation with leading Russian manufacturers of PE-RT pipes.

Ruslan Khayrullin, Director of SIBUR’s Engineering and Road Infrastructure Division:

“Bringing HD 03380 RT to the market is an important step in advancing domestically produced materials in the engineering infrastructure segment. Today, manufacturers of pipe solutions require stable, high-quality polymers that ensure the reliability of finished products, the long service life of piping systems, and the safety of their operation throughout the entire life cycle. The new grade meets these objectives, helps reduce dependence on imported raw materials, and expands the capabilities of Russian processors in the segment of pipes for underfloor heating, water supply and heating.”
