1 June 2026. SIBUR announces the launch of its PolyLow brand, which comprises polymer products with a low carbon footprint. This initiative is aimed not only at achieving the Company’s sustainability goals, but also at supporting its customers in their efforts to reduce their own impact on climate change.
The PolyLow portfolio currently includes low‑carbon PET produced at the POLIEF plant in Bashkortostan and the SIBUR‑PETF plant in the Tver Region. The ability to manufacture low‑carbon products has been achieved through a comprehensive approach: implementing energy‑ and resource‑efficiency projects, as well as using electricity from renewable sources in production.
The Company plans to continue its systematic work to reduce its impact on climate change and to expand the PolyLow portfolio with other types of products that have a low carbon footprint.
The Company’s project is aligned with the objectives of the Strategy for the Socio‑Economic Development of the Russian Federation, which includes achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.
SIBUR’s contribution to a low‑carbon future
Low‑carbon development is one of the most important areas of SIBUR’s Sustainable Development Strategy. As part of its climate agenda, the Company is implementing large‑scale decarbonisation initiatives and is a leader among Russian companies in terms of the number of registered climate projects: there are currently 12 in SIBUR’s portfolio. This work is underpinned by production modernisation aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions.
Also, SIBUR is actively adopting green energy practices. In 2025, the Company’s facilities generated or purchased more than 66,000 MWh of electricity from renewable sources. Solar power plants have been installed at three sites: the POLIEF plant in Bashkortostan, the SIBUR‑Yug corporate recreation centre, and the PolyLab research centre in Moscow.
